3./Landesschützenbatallion 828

Oberstleutnant Ernst Götz

Oberstleutnant Ernst Götz was commanding officer of Landesschützenbatallion 828. His 3rd company  was responsible for the guarding of OFLAG XIII-B. The company comprised of approx. 200 soldiers, the arming consisted mainly of captured rifles of French and Belgian origin and water cooled MG Type 08/15, which were mounted on the wooden guard towers. Oberstleutnant Götz got the mission  to reestablish order in the camp.
